I use Continental inners, they come with an extra ring to hold the valve in place. They may not be necessary on the 09 Wispers as the Alex rims aren't as deep.
Valve shear normally happens when the tyre pressure is low.
P.S. when needs must a normal length valve can work with all Wisper rims.

Yes, the 26" x 1.75" is the size to go for.

Those tubes I linked to are a bit too large for that tyre though. I haven't a source for smaller ones, maybe Mussels can confirm if the ones he mentions have long enough valves.

Has anybody tried this solution for long valves: Search Wiggle They seem to be quite widely available.

Funnily enough my first puncture on my wisper last week was a puncture at the valve root.

You can put 26 x 1.35 on, but if they are Marathon Plus you might find it much more uncomfortable than you expect. That's because the liner layer on these tyres makes them much stiffer than normal tyres, and on the smaller sizes they are very hard with little give to absorb bumps.

However, since you have suspension forks you might not mind this.

No sussies for me i opted for the city (with dinamo instead) it is a geting to work on roads bike. That was why i was thinking thinner for the road ?
but i am a nube and such things may not make a diffrence.

It won't make a lot of difference, in fact you probably couldn't tell any, so best to opt for the 1.75" for the comfort advantage.

I have tried tyre sizes between 1.3 and 2.35 on the Wisper 905 and they have a negligable effect on speed in city or country. My preferance in the end was for the largest tyres as they were more cushioning and geared up the motor slightly.
The rims will be fine but you may need a different size inner for thinner tyres, as before if it's a 09 model you will probably be able to use standard valve lengths. The Continentals I mentioned have long valves and will definately fit.
