Insurance problem with Powabyke X

Hi....my insurance company...Cornhill Direct, will not insure my X-bike :

They claim they do not insure e machines with a speed greater than 8mph.

I have tried loging on to Esure but for some reason it won't insure my post code...I've lived here 35 years....touch wood...no burglary attempts ...no flooding...no claims whatsoever.....very safe neighbourhood...touch wood again.

any advice please :

That insurance is clearly intended for mobility vehicles Mike, not for bikes. The mobility vehicles you see on our pavements are restricted by law to 4 mph on pavements and 8 mph on the roads.

...they are my household insurer....

I realize they insure mobility vehicles, but I'm looking for insurance for an electric bike and they don't insure those :

....can anyone help please ?

I insured my wisper on houshold policy...it cost an extra £20

along with the 2 locks and an alarm, not much more you can do......

..thanks Frank, what I'm really looking for is another home insurer that will cover e bikes :...perhaps pay an extra £25 not £100

.....pensioner you know....LOL
