Can anyone recommend and insurance company which insure bikes just found out our household insurance (halifax) will not cover our bike.

Try the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) they have a good scheme for bikes.

If it's possible to change your house contents insurance without losing too much money, Marks and Spencer home contents insurance covers unspecified bikes up to £4000.

In our case, we switched from Zurich + separate bike insurance and saved ourselves £132.
