Hi all. Just word on insurance?? I have had lots of quotes most of them over £100 pounds !! Then I received a emai from Total Cycle Assist who last year I registered with and the forgot??? anyway they were offering 33% off so I got my cycle ins for £16.00 and if anyone wants the same ins which is for all bikes and all the family inc breakdown and much more visit the Webb site and use this link (recom@totalcycleassist.co.uk ) and it will earn me a £5 pound note (wich will go to a good cause) for recommending someone and then you can do the same.seems like a good deal to me????
Regards Steve.

The policy doesn't read like a household contents policy, and the policy is a bit hidden away for my liking Total Cycle Assist. The emphasis in the policy about recovering monies on a no win, no fee basis makes them look a little like an Ambulance Chasers Direct type firm.

I think the policy only covers your for accidents that are not your fault, it does not cover theft

Anyway, a whois lookup gives us the name of the firm behind this:

Litigation Indemnity Consultancy Limited
21-27 St Pauls Street
Leeds
West Yorkshire
LS1 2JG
United Kingdom

Looking them up on companies house, Company No. 06262634, shows they last filed accounts in 31/05/2010 which gives them a "Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off". WebCHeck - Select and Access Company Information

It all seems too cheap to me, and I am suspicious.

Karl.

PS. further google found this thread: http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=53352&st=50 with a contribution from one of the directors.

Far too cheap to be viable, especially with the beenfits promised, so I'm just as suspicious. Even if charity based I can't see how the books could balance.
