Is a BMS battery suitable for a Smarta bike?

Don't forget that they are 2 different chemistries , one is more expensive and better than the other, (can't compare the cost of a 4 against a non 4) Bms are ok but allow for being hit for import duty, vat and if parcel force then their charge as well.

That battery will most likely fit. Theccase is standard across a large range of bikes. The only thing you have to check is that the connections are the right way round. For that you need a voltmeter. If they're wrong, it' easy to swap them over.

There's nothing wrong with stuff from BMSBattery, but if anything goes wrong with it, your on your own. The only way to get a refund is to send it back, whch is too expensve. That's a risk you have to bear. I've had about 4 batteries and 12 kits from them and they all still work perfectly.

Phylion batteries don't have a fantastic reputation. I doubt that the BMSBattery one will be any worse.

Thanks for the replies. I am inclined to stay with ETS as I can't afford the possible risk of BMSBattery. Does anyone know of a cheaper UK source?

Woosh bikes have them as spares for their bikes. Maybe if you plead your case, they'll sell you one.

If you get one, don't forget what I said anout checking the polarity of the connector before installing. It's easy to swap over if wrong, but if you connect the wrong way, your controller will take up smoking and then die an ugly death from it.
