Is it me or has the forum gone all funny?

Just looking at some of the threads (most actually) the last post seems to have been by someone who I thought had been banned, and all of the dates seem quite old.

Very strange.

There were a number of posts from a troubled lad which have now been deleted, I think. The forum does seem slow to me though.

Yes, I saw that all of the posts were from a person called diarrhoea or something or other. I suppose he stopped posting when his mum told him off for staying up late and switched his bedroom light off.

Dienamics was originally given a short term warning ban, but together with another abusive poster has now been banned completely by Russ our administrator. Their posts will all have been removed shortly.

Sadly these pests are all too common on the internet, being the equivalent of the vermin who create viruses and trojans, but fortunately lacking the knowledge to do that.

He was a real fan of you though wasn't he....

Maybe he carried out his threat and did his poor mum a favor

It seems so Eddie!

Possibly because I always ignored his pictorial postings while responding to so many others. Strange how people like that believe anyone else will care in the least what they think.

Yep, I caught the endings of his posts and thought what the hell is going on?
He sure seemed very troubled to me!
The pics were rather disturbing too :(
Normality restored I hope? :D

Yes, distinctly gives one the heebie-jeebies. The photo of him with a knife held against his wrists shows he's one sick kid alright. He reminds me of those Columbine school massacre freaks who all started off with similar sick-type Gothic photo/movie clip carry-on's on the Internet.

Seriously, we can all laugh and sneer at Diearrhoea's inadequacy, but helpful posters like Flecc, (whether on forum's or their helpful personal websites), should be very careful about releasing too much information about where they live.

I agree and that one with the knife? Mmmmm bit worrying.
I hope he isn't as troubled as he made out and was just getting some kind of kick out of posting on the forum and has probably done it elsewhere also.

However, he is someone's child which is a little worrying and hope he go's on to be all sorted out and happy some time soon :)

I have a webby and only released my email addy but still get all sorts of spam but no one can visit me there. I too think everyone should be careful about releasing too much info on the net unless you are happy it is genuine.

Anon :D ;)

Dienamics is actually a fairly knowledgeable cyclist who happens to think e-biking is pathetic, just a step beyond those who accuse us of cheating.

The photos he publishes are not a reflection of himself but an expansion on an early sarcastic forum comment he made somewhat in this vein:

"I was thinking of killing myself so I joined an e-bike forum"

his way of saying e-biking is the pits. Posting destructively is extreme, but that's not uncommon these days.

Yes - I noticed that in between the nonsense he let slip a couple of interesting and knowledgeable comments! But, after one exchange, it was clear that he was a troll so I just ignored him until he went away!

I have to say that I feel that Russ has shown too light a touch in dealing with this sort of thing, which is bound to happen more in the future. I regularly flag messages to him which I think are inappropriate and it is rare that anything happens. I missed the Dienamics final flourish, but I think it confirms my belief that once you start to tolerate this sort of thing it usually escalates! If it had been up to me his profile and IP address would have been blocked as soon as it became clear what he was - about a month ago.

Interestingly his IP address is shared by an e-bike supplier and a member of their staff, both forum members.

Conspiracy theories anyone? :D

Well, he should be easy to spot when visiting e-bike suppliers; just listen out for a member of staff with a droning voice like the suicidally depressed robot from the old 'Red Dwarf' outer-space sitcom. Kryten I think, was his name.

I can't say I'm too surprised; most crimes are committed by people known to the victim! Why would a complete stranger have a motive?

Nah, Kryten was quite jolly. I think you mean Marvin, the paranoid android from the excellent Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

I must have blinked and missed all the fun.

Nick
What happened was that Dienamics came back in last night, some while after his ban expired, and posted one of his images of a heavily made up "goth" face in every thread over two pages of the forum, and to round off posted one photo of the person in the images holding a knife to a wrist as if to cut it.

In addition, on one of the posts he added in large letters, "Guess who's back", and on another post "I hate flecc", obviously just too embarrassed to actually admit how much he admired me. :D

Mmmmmm. I've never regarded anything coming out of Downing Street as safe, it's all to often to be feared. :(
