Hi all,

I hired an electric mountain bike last year on a trip to the new forest and absolutely loved it so now I've decided to buy one and start riding more frequently.
I'm 42, a bit out of shape and intend on doing light off road riding, maybe 5 - 10 miles each session and 3 - 4 times a week.
I wouldn't have a clue how to fix anything (including a puncture) so I need a bike that is well built and will not fall apart too quickly.
I'm looking at buying this bike, https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/Haibike-sDuro-HardSeven-5.0-2019 and wondered if it would be a good all round starter bike

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks.
Are the cube bikes as well built as the Haibikes?

it is just a frame and a name at the end of the day so just depends what you like and willing to pay for.

AKG,

You could save money with an alternative ebike, but you will not be disappointed with that Haibike. Haibikes just ooze quality.
I recently bought a Haibike Sduro full-suspension (FS) machine and I am chuffed to bits with it:
https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/haibike-sduro-fullseven-3-0-initial-reaction-and-recommendations.34087/

Review of a Haibike Trekking included the following quote:
Overall, there's no doubting the quality of the Haibike Sduro Trekking. If you live in a city with few hills, it's totally over-specced. But for commutes that take in more rural, hilly areas, or for going off road and onto woodland trails and the like, it's great.

With regard to punctures, I would recommend taping the rims and fitting tubeless tyres, then using one of the sealants from Muc-Off or Effetto etc. Details are included in my review of the Sduro FS.

Also recommended are some Zefal M60 mudguards:

EDIT For an extra £100 you can have the much greater comfort of full suspension with a Haibike Sduro FullSeven:

Enjoy your new Haibike!

Thanks for the replies.
I opted for the SDURO hardNine 5.0 and it feels great, I can’t wait to take it out on some light trails.
I’ll look into the tubeless tyres Eagle mentioned above.

Thanks again.
