That's why the Dunlop Denovo failed years ago NRG, the discomfort caused by the sidewall rigidity and highish pressures. Even on heavy trucks the old runflats were harsher riding than standard truck tyres.

I'm not surprised you want to lose yours asap. Will you have a spare wheel when you change though?

Another thumbs up for Marathons. Since fitting mine five years ago I've never had another puncture.

I found them quite hard to get on the rims, and not exactly cheap, but what a wise investment.

That's the problem Flecc no spare or space saver came with the car so I'll have to buy one and leave it in the boot :(

Speaking of punctures I had one today on the Alien fitted with Marathon Cross tyres. As I have not got around to changing the awful rim tape that comes with the Alien I thought that it was the cause but no...I checked the tyre over and could find nothing to cause the puncture except for a small bit of grit rolling around the inside of the tyre. There was a small 'nick' in the inner tube on the tyre side and I think the grit must have been trapped between the tyre and tube and just worked at the tube under pressure...flippin' annoying!

Serves you right:D why should I be having all the punctures:D they must be shared equally around.

I thought that would be the case, the "no spare" or "spacesaver" are a bit of a menace these days. My Qashqai has beautiful alloy wheels with huge tyres, but a steel-wheeled spacesaver in the boot. Hopefully I'll never have to use it.

What an environmental waste spacesavers are though, instead of proper spare tyres rotated into the mix and used up, spacesavers are all destined for scrap, mostly never used. :(

My last car didn't come with a spare tyre and that had normal tyre, it just had a can of foam and an inflator in the boot.

a lot of us motorhomers have the tyres injected with "punctureseal" and not bother with spare wheel...gaining approx another 45 kg in payload, enough to carry a couple of E Bikes:)

The sealants work well with cars since they were intended for tubeless tyre use. Not so good on tubed bike tyres though.

remember I got a puncture in my alien convert rear tyre with slime inserts and slime filled tubes? well I pumped it up and went out on it and it hasn`t gone down since so the slime seems to have done a decent job. I`m still fitting Marathons though.

Good to hear. You're one of the lucky minority. Most of us haven't had any success with slime type sealants on bikes.
