Italjet Ascot

I have an Italjet Ascot and want to convert to throttle as opposed to pedal assist due to a disability. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this with the existing hardware installed on the bike? There is a twist throttle arrangment on the handlebar grip so is it just a case of swapping a connector somewhere on the bike?
