Hi
I have an old 24 volt izip x-cell cruiser
I decided that I needed another battery pack
to go that extra mile.

Now I thought that all I would need was two 12 volt
batteries connecting together and make 24 volts.

So that is what I did, all OK so far

Connected a kettle plug connection to the batteries
Plugged into the motor wire but nothing happened

Anyone got any suggestions as what else i need as its got me beat.

Cheers qwik.

You need a voltmeter to take measurements in various places to track down the cause.

Hi
Thanks for the reply
Yes i have had the meter on and all is OK
Plug into the original battery pack no problems
Switch to the new seperate battery pack
No lights come on nothing but still getting 24v +
Its as though there is something else inside
The original battery pack

Thanks

Have you got 24v at the controller, and is it the correct polarity?

Right
Problem solved
The kettle plug from the batteries
Put the meter on and got 25.7v
even with the switch off.
Then 25.7v with the switch on.
What happens is the pos and neg don't go to
the controller, only the negative does
When you switch the switch on what I would have thought was the
earth connector becomes the positive going to the controller.

Job done
Now I have a spare battery pack on the carrier
and can do twice the distance.

Cheers qwik.
