I've been trying to contact bmsbattery.com about the faulty battery. They dont answer me on mail. I have 2 of them on skype aswell and even though they are online they dont answer any calls/chats.

Its a warning to others who intend to order from them.

I bought a HobbyKing hk-010 watt meter yesterday and had the bike for a testride. I bought as I mentioned earlier a 36v, 250w bafang Qswxh.
The watt meter shows that it draws about 480w under load (uphill) and about 13A. So that was quite a surprise..... I'm really happy with the watt meter, the only downside is that the LCD isnt backlit and the contrast is kinda bad.

I'm sick of bmsbattery.com and I decided to get a new battery. This time I ordered 4 x 5s 5000mah lipos from hobbyking. 1/2 the weight & size.

Don't forget some sort of low voltage cutoff warning device for the packs.

There's a few to choose from, I use the BM6 units as they pull power accross all the cells (some just pull power from a single cell unbalancing the pack) or the other device to go for is the cellog units.

I thikn I will be fine with the watt meter.. but maybe i should consider a buzzering meter.

But with the bm6, you are only monitoring 1 pack (severals cells) ? or does it monitor the complete battery in series/parallel ?

edit: Btw, the Bm6 get extremely lousy reviews on hobbyking..

I've had no issue with the 6 v3.0 units I use on my RC packs, they all go down to 2v, I've not experienced any of the faults reported in the feedback....maybe they have had a bad production batch.

Your WattMeter is no good for monitoring the low voltage point of each indiuvidual cell. It can only measure overall pack voltage, a seemingly good reading may hide one cell high and another dangerously low. Trust me you don't want to damage these cells so individual cell monitoring is needed.

You use one BM6 per pack plugged into the balance leads. Set the LVC alarm point and it will warn when that cell gets low.

You can get them in the UK as well, at least you'll have a local contact should they prove to be rubbish:
