My original 10 Ah Panasonic battery will be 5 years old in June this year. It's done about 13000 miles and still has sufficient capacity for my 20 mile round trip commute. If the 18 Ah battery is as good, it's a fair price for that sort of performance and begins to make economic sense.

I don't think anything from the cheaper end of the market could begin to compare. For serious commuting, you need to spend a bit more to begin with and it will pay you back later. Buy cheap and you will buy twice.

Those are 50 Cycles prices. Buy direct from Getmany and save £130, maybe more. I only spent 30 seconds looking at prices, with a bit more research, it may be possible to find the batteries even cheaper.
