Hi,
My Kalkhoff is about 30 months old and has covered approx. 2,000 miles. Recently I've experienced a very noisy bottom bracket. It's making a very annoying and loud 'ticking' and 'clicking' noise which from previous experience with a Wisper pedelec precedes the bracket bearings packing up. At first the noise was only evident under load but now it's constant. I don't need to use my bell anymore!
I've changed the front sprocket and the chain and the noise now is even worse!
I've spoken to 50cycles who told me that the bottom bracket is not a replaceable part, that the bottom bracket has needle bearings and these don't wear. Now I'm getting worried!
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Gerry.

They're right. It doesn't have a bottom bracket. Instead the crank spindle is part of the motor system. Is your chain rubbing on the chain-guard?

Hi, thanks for your reply, the chain rests very close to the base of the battery however in use it tensions and that isn't causing the noise. i've removed the chainguard and the noise is still there unfortunately.
