Hi all. I am looking to buy an ebike for commuting to work and casual cycling on the weekend. The commute is 7 miles but quite hilly. My workplace cycle to work benefit allows a budget of £2500. For that price, I looked at the Kalkhoff endeavour 3B move with the 500Wh battery. It looks the most specced bike for that price but I may be wrong. Is it a good commuter bike? Any other bike you’d recommend within that budget?

I can't give it a recommendation as I haven't received it yet but I have just ordered a Cube Hybrid One 625. It doesn't have the Performance line motor like the Kalkhoff, it's Active Line Plus but it does have a 625Wh in-tube battery. Other equipment is very similar - rack, mudguards, Altus 9 speed cassette, Alivio derailleur and shifter. Stock could be a problem.

There is actually a Performance line version of the Hybrid One, the Kathmandu Hybrid One 500, which is a similar price to the Kalkhoff. In fact it has the Performance Gen 4 CX motor now I look at it. Might be worth a look.

I had an Ortler on order from Bikester but they have had all sorts of problems with deliveries and they refunded me, unbidden, when it became evident that nobody knew exactly where it was.

Thanks MichaelM! Good shout on the Cube Kathmandu. Same price but better motor than the Kalkhoff. Will look for it locally and see if I can test ride it.
