Kalkhoff Pro Connect S - Woods Valves

I have a Pro Connect S imported from Germany by 50cycles. It comes with woods values. I have heard that these are still used in America, Japan, Germany Holland and developing nations. It seems strange that there is no dedicated pump for these valves. Surely all these countries can't use presta pumps with little brass adaptors fiitted to the valve. These can be difficult to use and leaky and you've got to remember to take them on every ride. They must have dedicted pumps. Does anyone know if there is there a dedicated pump, even if I have to import it from abroad? Of course I could change the inner tubes but removing the wheel is often a bit tricky on pedelecs and I don't want to start fiddling with this when I've just got the bike.

you can use a standard presta pump without an adaptor or use a schrader pump with one. A track pump works best ...

I think the best answer is new Schrader valve tubes. The wheels and derailleur gears on your bike are perfectly normal bike parts and being a pedelec makes no difference to it. It's only hub motor bikes that are made more complicated in this respect for pedelec reasons.

Even if you obtain a proper Woods pump they do tend to be harder work, so Schrader valves are a better option. The persistence of the simplest form of the Woods valves I can understand in the third world, but it's baffling that they survive in the West, especially in their more complex forms, when the superior Schraders and the spare inserts are in such widespread use in motor vehicles worldwide.

I got absolutely nowhere, just hot and bothered, trying to pump up the tyres on my Agattu with a manual pump. I'm sure I'll switch inner tubes ultimately but one of these for £1.99 solved the problem, without leaks. Yes I have to take the little brass adaptor with me but its no problem to keep permanently in a tiny pocket on my saddle bag.
