has anyone ridden them both for a decent distance?

i thought the khalkoff was a good bike and managed a good distance on a charge, and it climbed hills well.
got to say, the haibike is a far far better bit of kit.
far better quality, proper mountain bike kit, and it also rides like a proper bike too.
and the hill climbing power offroad on loose rocky terrain is awesome. :D

I'm sure that would be a widespread impression of the Panasonic equipped Kalkhoffs now, the Bosch system certainly seems to have the edge.

Of course the Kalkhoffs now come of numerous forms, with Panasonic, Bosch or their own Impulse crank drive power units, BionX rear hub motor or even front wheel hub motor. Not all are currently imported into the UK though.

Alan tried the similar sized Kalkhoff impulse Sahel to my Bosch powered AVE and ordered the AVE immediately. As you well know the Bosch pulls like a train......

New 11 Ah battery for early next year. fits existing slot.

Its a class better than the Impulse and the original Panasonic I have owned some and ridden others the Bosch is a very impressive silent unit indeed. As said before many motors can be stamped as 250 Watts but some are considerably more/less powerful than others

Bosch with throttle and new bigger battery to compensate would be my ideal bike...COME! ON! Visper!:p

Nice to see the message getting through eventually...My job is done;)

What about Haibike vs Grace? Both Bosch, but different drive systems. Can't afford both, so which is it to be?

This is always the problem.
Do you buy now, or wait a year?
There are rumours of German advances and new things in China.

Depends....I needed a bike for wife for this summer trip so bought now. If she still had a reasonable e bike I would definitely of waited.

Yep I think the next year or two will be interesting as high tech companies with massive resources now getting interested in E bikes after the Bosch success story

as per usual..You will just heed to try one and find out. I'm going to try it when Visper get the legal one over, as they are doing something to my DaaHub soon so ned to go down there anyway...

as you do mainly off road I would think the Haibike perfect... more kit means more weight = less enjoyment in my book
