Do you have other batteries to try ?

If it is a better spec cell/battery try it and see what happens ?

Thinking about it this won't work either as the BMS likes to cut above 15 amps on that one. I had cutouts with my 48v on old controller too, they were random, I chalked it to bad connections and overhauled them. When it happened it was the exact same behaviour, except it would go away on its own once I started riding and wouldnt come back for weeks. When it did easing the throttle and riding would cure it again. Does this give any clues as to possible cause? This time it's the same symptoms but it is consistently over a certain current level

The smaller 6 fet controllers can be finnicky and suffer thermal cut out's before cooling and running again, on my dual voltage one I added an extra heat sink and pair of fans as at 48v it was getting very hot.
Hence I have dropped 48v and gone for larger 9fet @36v.
In free air they will be better but mine are in a bag.

Wasn't that as it was happening as soon as I turned it on. Have soldered the phase and power lines direct and it still happens, likely a battery issue of some kind or the motor stalls under too much current. I did notice it was getting hot in the bag under use, now mounted naked on rear rack and waterproofed the harness with a bunch of amalgamating tape
