Kudos cycles will be exhibiting it's full range of e-bikes at the Kent Show,Detling near Maidstone. 13-15 July,9.00 am to 6.00 pm. Stand No 433 directly facing Edward Hardy Avenue. We will be showing the very popular lightweight Kudos 'Secret' folding bike, ideal for caravan, boat and motorhome applications. Also the Kudos 'Safari' bike with unisex styling and a frame shape to suit shorter riders, plus all the rest of our range.
We will have a fully marquee covered display in the 'unlikely' event of rain !!!!!

Mussels, sorry no,there is no chance of getting bikes in or out once the show has started. We have a Tourer mounted upon a fitness type roller so that newbies to the electric bike concept can experience a simulation of the pas system.

Don't bother to try out a Kudos E-Bike, just buy one you wont regret it. We bought two (Tourer Nexus 8 and Eco) and cannot fault the bikes or the company.

The bikes do look good but it's always worth checking. The Secret looks great as a second bike that I can take on the train but the saddle is incredibly low, I only just noticed and it might make it almost unrideable. There are lots of unforeseen problems that a test ride (or a test fold in some cases) will point out.

My sister-in-law has the Secret and the saddle is not as low as you think. I agree I wouldn't buy a bike without a test ride, but just passing on my findings to you as I tried a lot of Kudos bikes.

Are you able to get to their HQ (nr Herne Bay,Kent)? We went there and you are able to try as many bikes as you like. The staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble and not at all pushy.

Guys,I ride the Secret,am 6ft and long legs and find it comfortable but one of my employees is a sports cyclist and rides these folders with a different attitude,he wants the bike to feel like his sports bike,I want it for hopping down to the shop to get a paper. Peter Eland of the Electric bike magazine also commented that he found the saddle height too low but he is also a very tall guy.
Anyway, the solution is simple to have an extended length seat post,I have asked the manufacturer to
supply a quantity of seat posts plus 100mm. The only problem is that it extends the bike beyond its folded envelope and may be a bit of a squeeze in the transport bag.
Have just looked at the photos on our website of the Secret, the seatpost is very immersed in those photos it extends a lot further out than those photos would suggest.
However, the post must not be extended beyond the minimum immersion depth(indicated by etching on the seat post),for extra height the extended post will be necessary.
Hope that helps.

Bummer about the car parks (all shut due to wet weather), lets hope people can get there to try the bikes out. It's in the middle of nowhere so no cars means no visitors.

Thanks Eddie,I will try the bike in the bag when the longer posts come in.
They closed the Kent Show at 11 am today, around the Kudos stand the ground was quite dry and my car was in a mud free field so I could not understand what all the fuss was about, maybe the car parks away from the venue were very muddy. They assure all stall holders that the show will be all ok tomorrow.
Our stand was very busy, constant interest in the electric bikes, despite the weather. Lots of test rides outside our warehouse on the next nice day.

Did you get anyone in today, the gantry signs on the motorway said the show was closed.
Real shame about the weather.
I understand they did not let anyone pay on the gate today so as to restrict the number of cars in the grass car parks but they honoured pre bought tickets and those who bought tickets for other days but could not get in on those days. It was very busy today so probably their handling of the tickets today was sensible.
Shame this show is one of the best of the county type shows but if we are to have ongoing weather like this then they will have to develop an alternative parking system, maybe busing in people from other car parks.
However there was a lot of interest from new customers in the e-bike concept and many coming for test rides over the next few weeks at our warehouse.
The Brits are good at overcoming adversity but we do get tested at times.
