I intended lacing a 27.5 inch wheel with a q128c motor. Should I be using a 2x or 3x pattern. Are 13g spokes best to use.
Many thanks for any advice.

Use 14g for a bit more flexibility, I use Sapim strong on all my wheel builds.
2X for straighter spoke entry in to nipples. 3x is doable but you get a slight angle on spoke nipple entry so stick to 2x.

Thanks for your input as always. I already have two 26” wheels from Bmsbattery but I want to have a go myself. I contemplated using only 32 of the 36 holes in the motor with a 32 hole rim that I already have but it looked a bit fiddly.
So, I have a 36 hole rim on the way. I believe the 26” wheels have 13g spokes and they are laced 2x.
Some recommend using 3x lacing on larger wheels, that’s the reason I’m asking.
I’m going with your recommendations of 2x and 14g. Thanks for your help.

You can use 3x lacing but it depends like any hub whether standard bike hub or electric motor hub , the hubs diameter. The increase in hub diameter increase the chance of nipple/spoke entry being less then ideal so always best to go less in cross terms to get a better spoke/nipple alignment. Tis why small wheels with hub motors sometimes use 1x or straight lacing.
