Any views on these Kits, I was just about to buy from Alien Ocean, and then saw this

"Electric Bike Bicycle 26' Conversion Kit - 36V/250W
ROAD LEGAL - Top Quality Li-Pol Battery - BEST ON EBAY"

item number 180307441382

Alien has been going a while and forum members are familiar with him

Don't think this chap has any history of e-bikes though

(need two ebikes - so budget demands converting old faithfull);)

Very large diameter motor, no mention of weight but probably very heavy for a front wheel, no mention of fork width necessary, and no mention of whether it's an internally geared hub or direct drive. The claim of 1000 charges for the li-poly battery is unlikely to say the least.

Too many unknowns for me.

Thanks Flecc, all good points. I was hoping someone might have direct experience of these, but I think I'll stick to the devil I know. As you say "Too many unknowns"

So it looks like my 1986 rockhopper is getting some Alien technology.....

cheers
