I may get a place in Spain for semi retirement. If I buy an e bike locally how would I keep the battery conditioned if left for months......

can you get timers that can be set to go on for an hour or two a month? or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Once a week timers are commonplace and a weekly top up is ok to prevent a battery emptying.

A better solution is having a current Panasonic unit bike with the 10 Ah battery which has an automatic sleep mode that would keep the battery safe for very many months or a year. Once the battery charge declines to about half charge and isn't touched for about two weeks, it "sleeps" by disconnecting its own BMS, thus eliminating further current drain from the cells.

yes you are right I have found 7 day 24 hour timers so an hour a week would be OK? . interesting re the Panasonic..... sounds ideal really. but was thinking of something like the tucano carrera or maybe I should stump up for a BH emotion Panasonic bike.....

I guess you cant carry batteries on a plane?

Lithium batteried laptops are taken on board, but I think the batteries should be in the hold.

Don't forget that the Emotion manufacturer BH are a Spanish company and sell their Emotion range there, so both bikes and batteries are local for a holiday home there. Worth checking on their prices there, though don't be surprised if they are higher.
