I am so glad a question from a member of the public was "asked":

Hancock reads out the first question from a member of the public.

It is from Lynne, in Skipton. She has not recorded a message, so Hancock reads it out. She says she is missing her grandchildren. Will being able to hug grandchildren be one of the first steps out of lockdown.

Hancock invites Whitty to answer. Whitty says it will depend very much on whether Lynne is in a shielded group, and on her age.

Hancock says he understands how hard this is for people.

And he says this shows how questions from members of the public can be as hard to answer as questions from journalists.

Like the BBC with air time, they are finding it harder to fill their daily spot.

Hopefully, unlike the Beeb, they won't resort to repeats and highlights from previous evenings.

when this is all over hopefully, I dread to think of all the endless documentaries we are going to get on this virus, all the expert views with hindsight

If you have a look at the UK Column.org website, or Dr Vernon Coleman on YouTube and his own site, you will see we are all being taken for mugs.

@Chainring - I wasn't going to say anything but I have to agree with you.

The Guardian has an interesting article which says its all carefully planned.
It could be total fiction or it could be more accurate than we'd like to think...

A whistleblower contacted the UK Column people, and said the intention was to 're-purpose' the civil service and local government. Our local town hall is closed and they will not say when they will re-open. Our recycling centre has moved to a system of booking to take anything in! I received a letter from my dentist yesterday to cancel my appointment, and they will not say when they will be open again. It's not good.

Don't get toothache. Your normal dentist won't drill anymore. You have to wait in agony for an referral to a specialist. Even then, they leave the repair half done with no date to finish it off.

I'm here in a hospital surrounded by NHS staff, who are all very chatty and open. I showed them that headline and they all laughed and said," Load of pollacks" or something like that.

More likely, there were some political activists working for the NHS, who told a load of lies to the Guardian. Their boss found out and told them off.

That's not the Guardian! No wonder 'fake news' is so prevalent. Always double-check your sources folks.

Well, Ive never known the UK be shut down before for a bout of the flu. I can only speak for what I have experienced personally and know for a fact. It amazes me that Coroni will not bother us until the 24th July, so we can go un-masked in to shops until then. I don't think you have to be a political activist to speak the truth. In fact, the further from politics you are, the more likely people are to trust you. Distrust the government. Avoid mass media. Fight the lies.
