I really want to get an electric bike for my wife to take away in our motorhome. I have just hired a bike for a day - a Sparta - which was the only one of several that she could get onto due to the step height. She quite liked it but it is too big to go in the van and too heavy to go on the rack. Ideally I want a VERY low step folding or at least partly collapsible, easy to ride bike. She has also tried Bearprint (OK) and Flyer (too fast and frightened her).

The 8fun advertised here 8Fun 20"Aluminium Electric Folding Bicycle Bike-20F03BL | eBay seems suitable and has the virtue that the main components are the same as my bike conversion kit but I am worried about its ride-ability and cannot try it before buying. Some bikes of this type seem to be excessively flexible and are only suited to very short trips. Also I am worried about the quality of these Chinese bikes which seem to vary between good and dreadful.

Any other recommendations please.

Have you considered fitting a towbar? There are a variety of cycle carriers that clamp very firmly to a towbar and can carry two ebikes very safely. You're then free to pick exactly the bike your wife finds most suitable.
Best wishes,
Tom.

No. I like to keep things simple on the motorhome. Life is difficult enough with height barriers and weight restrictions (we are just under 3 tonnes and just squeeze into a normal parking slot.
