Thanks for posting this, a fellow camper in France mentioned it this summer.
He also mentioned a scheme for accommodating cyclists in family homes. You pay a membership fee, then have access to the network for b&b in cyclist friendly homes.

I remember you always used to get a IEC (kettle plug) to schuko lead with new computers, particularly Dells and other large electronic purchases - often they come with a UK lead and a European one - not sure if this still happens but for those of you who still work in offices it might be worth asking a friendly colleague in IT or Facilities as they might have a box full of the things stashed away somewhere..
