Geoffrey Cox, QC, MP - Member of Parliament for Torridge and West Devon took delivery today of his fully loaded Wisper 905se City S supplied by Steve at Powarider. Mr Cox is going to use his Wisper to ride in from his flat in Battersea to Parliament. He believes he is the first British MP to use an electric bike to commute to Parliament. Geoffrey absolutly loved the bike and as we left he was seen selling the concept to the Metropolitan Police!

Delighted with his acquisition!

Steve explains the controls.

Absolutly no expenses jokes please! :D

Best regards David

Hi David,
Are you really sure this is something you want to boast about?

First it was the Mail on Sunday, now MPs are endorsing e-bikes!

That's it, the Agattu's on EBAY first thing in the morning:D

Can't help it!

I know music, great isn't it and on the day when in Holand electric bikes (last three months figures) have been reported as becoming the largest selling sector, by revenue, of all bike types, including city and mountain bikes.

Happy days!

All the best David

That's a very dodgy statistic, it could just mean that the researchers have lumped all eclectic bikes into one big sector whilst splitting up unassisted bikes into lots of little sectors. If you you were specific enough with your choice of sectors you could get the same result in the UK :p

The big question it leaves unanswered is: How much (if at all) has the electic bike sector increased its share of sales, by revenue, of all bike types in Holland?

Glad to see you got an MP on one of your bikes, have you sent a rep to Buckingham Palace yet? I could just imagine William and Harry whizzing about on Wispers to get to public engagements, and I think the royal crest and 'By appointment ...' would look good on the bikes :)

He needs an electric bike to ride about 3 miles on the flat, he's not going to lose much weight like that. :D
Was it free or on expenses?

4 miles

After spending an hour or so with Geoffrey yesterday he is a wonderful guy to have on board the ebike boat!

He is very keen to get the message about cycling in London and rural locations out to a wide audience. And although he won't loose much weight (nor doers he need to) how much better than a black cab?! And how good is this for the blossoming ebike market?

It's one of those rare win, win situations.

All the best David

There must be something in the air at Westminster. We delivered a Kalkhoff Pro Connect to an Earl back in June, he's been using it to commute to the House of Lords (and also out in the countryside) since then.

Of course Eddie as soon as you are an MP let me know.

But as a matter of interest Geoffrey paid Powarider full price. He researched ALL the bikes chose the one best for his needs and bought it.

All the best David

its good to see more transparency (both from Wisper and the MP)..

TBH though I don't agree with their politics, I can see how a middle aged Tory MP riding an e-bike through London is a Good Thing, as its precisely that sort of person who needs to be made aware of such issues as how dangerous the roads can be, and peer influence works with the older generations as much as the younger...

Transparent

If I were more transparent I would disappear! It's one of my many failings in life!

Re getting an eloquent middle aged Tory MP on a bike, I couldn't agree more, he is just the kind of person we need understanding and putting the cyclists views forward.

That's what they're here for!

All the best David

Now if you could get Alastair Darling riding one on the grounds that it promotes the 'green economy', that would be something...go on David, it's got to be worth an email :D .

Did he pay for it?
