new to cycling as well as e-biking, so can anyone help or advise me. tried to take the rear wheel off my pawacycle salisbury to put marathon plus tyre on, but cable has'nt got enough slack, still managed but was wondering if spliting the cable and putting a water proof connector on would be an easier way to remove the wheel.(local auto elect. would do it properly).worth while or not?

remove the plastic cover below the battery (NB: quite a fiddly job from memory). This gives access to the controller, and the motor cable is connected there using removeable connectors. Then you can remove the entire wheel.

had a look at that looks very tightly packed in would'nt want to do that too often, thought this might be an easier option

it is a tight fit but not as bad as it seems (that said I used to work on large complex electronic systems for TV stations so have encountered much worse). just make sure that every cable is correctly replaced in the right order.

My LBS removed my rear a couple of days ago. He held the bike on a stand, unclipped the cables from the frame holders and dropped the wheel, giving just enough clearance to remove. Replaced my tube (puncture) and re-fitted. All for 8 quid.

I couldn't find a suitable plug for the hall wires so I bought 0.8mm gold connectors from Overlander.co.uk and these are great but you do have to solder them and heatshrink and plug/unplug 5 wires each time you take the wheel off but they are very secure and water resistant (as overkill I use heatshrink over the lot, shrink it down at the top and use a tie wrap at the bottom). If they are too small then they do 2mm gold connectors that are a bit easier to fiddle with and still don't look too out of place.

Onmebike sorted my Powertrek, he just cut the wire and added another 12" of wire , soldered them together and heat shrink, tucked them up behind the frame and cable tied.

I changed the rear tyre on my wifes Cyclamatic Power Plus by just unclipping the wire from the frame( just enough free play) The art is to suspend the bike a touch.
