Motorhomes and Electric Bikes

There seems to be quite a number of people on the Forum who own a motorhome and electric bikes. Is this in the hope that the bike will help offset the massive carbon footprint created by such vehicles:D

Or, am I just jealous? Not really, my wife and did the maths and worked out how many holidays we could have for the cost of a half decent motorhome and totally ignored the carbon footprint left behind by our executive jet (A.K.A. Queezyjet)

I think a big e-bike benefit is accessibility, the motorhome often not being suitable for accessing narrow country lanes and other such local exploring. Also, once the motorhome is parked on a site, there's the desire not to keep moving it.

In some parts of the world they tow a small car behind their motorhomes for similar reasons, and there are auto-steering towbars for that purpose, turning the car into a four wheel trailer.

I have always had a camper of some discription...when we bought our first place years ago I got a old but good camper as I was adamant that we should still be able to have decent and long holidays. Our kids used to complain about going away all the time!

From there I traded up and now buying new is not to painful...... We still go long haul in the winter Thailand last year and India the year before etc.... as I was always self employed and the wife in education we can have decent breaks so a motorhome made sense.

As for the e bikes they have transformed our holidays (we always had bikes anyway) As for carbon foot print most motorhomes cover a fraction of the mileage that a car covers so that is negligible.....

A frame towing that Tony describes is very popular here as well
