Just for any of our South west members theres a feature on the local news at 6pm about Totnes apparently "embracing electric bikes ".....

Hope you manage to see it :)

Haha...yeah yeah...ok Dave ...SW ENGLAND lol

It was about a scheme by 'Totnes e-bikes' to rent out bikes to locals for £50 a year !
(obviously not full time hire lol )
Also one is available at the local medical centre for on prescription loan for anyone wanting to get fit for 6 weeks......
Totnes is very hilly and it showed several people trying out the bikes, fitted with panniers, going up the main street.
I couldnt see the make of bike as it was covered with the scheme sticker but they were all step thru models.
No doubt someone on here will know the make or if not can probably be seen on the shops website.....good initiative and good publicity for electric bikes anyway :D

I was watching ITV1 West - which was labelled "ITV South West" on the local news screen. Nothing on that about electric bikes, Totnes, anything.
I saw Princess Anne looking at lighthouse, and annoyed nurses in Bristol.

Those items were after the bikes Dave or maybe it varies between areas of the south west

Well I might love e-bikes and I might be dizzy at times but I dont normally hallucinate whole e-bike news items lol :D

Maybe there's another smaller coverage area which the satellite doesn't relay. Was the item right at the beginning, because I only missed about a minute and it was straight into a highlighting of what was to come.

I didn't realise ITV still did local news? The only thing remotely local mentioned this evening was a reference to RAF Brize Norton! The vast majority of the news came from Hampshire (more than 50%) followed by Dorset and Sussex. I'm seriously considering moving the aerial so I can get my local news from London, as I feel that is more relevant to me than coastal places.

No Dave it was at least three items into the programme so they must have smaller regional news within the south west 'umbrella'......shame you missed it
