Neodrives battery repair

I have an eMTB which is my primary transport. The bike is a Sunn Rage from 2015. The battery cells and charger are all good but the BMS has failed. The system is a BROSE S motor with NEODRIVES battery. NEODRIVES refuses to supply spare parts which I think is environmentally irresponsible but.....!.
Does anyone know if these BMS boards are available elsewhere?

If the battery uses CANbus then you may end up bricking if BMS is faulty, if any think like Bosh could already bricked if the BMS is bad.
And looking at your pic those four thinner wires on the periphery of the pic, doesn't bode well.

Thank you, not entirely surprising but clearly a basic design flaw if one circuit board ( or probably just one component thereof) results in scrapping an otherwise viable cell pack!. Does this imply that Bosch is similar if so I would like to find a manufacturer that designs more sustainable products.

(cynical mode on)

The design could be deliberatly that way to make you replace the whole pack, 'no user servicable parts inside' etc.

Are you sure it's your BMS and not the cells? The battery has done pretty well as a "primary transport" if it has been going since 2015.

Yes I had the cells checked. The only problem is charging ( charger also checked). I think it is not the original battery and it has only been my 'primary' in the last year during lockdown - so not used intensively.

I think you are right but it is a very short term marketing philosophy. We have about 8 ebikes and you can guess who we will not be buying from in the future!

All the big propriety brands that use mid drive are mostly scrap after the warranty runs out if a major electronic issue occurs, though I believe one brand may have a 4 year warranty. None of the major brands make available any serviceable parts probably partly because the inhouse software is needed for programming.
Replacement batteries are stupid prices and one reason why I would never touch one.

Buyers are in my view are treated with contempt by the big brands and they are only after the money, Customer care/service tbh is very poor once warranty has ended unless you are willing to pay silly repair/replacement costs.

Or maybe the OEM is not too happy for Joe Public (with unknown electric skills) to repair thier batteries. They could just supply spares to authorised repair centers.

Neodrives refused to supply their authorised dealer so not really the issue here.

In an age where some of these companies promote sustainability and progress it is a poor two faced showing from them and don't deserve peoples money.
