David,R&M 29er.....nice looking bike.
My only concern is that the more sophisticated technology we put into these bikes, the more the cost rises and the more we move away from the concept of ebikes being an inexpensive alternative means of transport....nothing personal in this comment Kudos is also being pulled into the technology arms race with our latest bikes, there doesn't seem much available as an entry level bike but it's getting very busy at £2k plus.
KudosDave
Thanks Dave.
The suspension and other equipment is the same you would find on any top-end mountain bike, and the 2014 Bosch system will be around for a long time. Starting at just under £4k and at nearly £5K for the top of the range machine with the Rolhoff 14 hub it wont be a huge seller, but I am sure enthusiasts will be willing to pay for such an exceptional piece of hand built kit.
The official Press release from R and M
With the new 2014 Delite hybrid, Riese & Müller presents a completely new E-bike concept. The Delite hybrid is designed as an E-MTB which speaks to two target groups: the E-mountain biker who makes demanding mountain tours as well as the sporty touring and city riders. To optimize the riding experience of each rider, the bike is offered in two wheel sizes. The Small and Medium frames are designed around 26" wheels while the Large and XL frames are designed around 28/29" wheels. The goal of our development department was to provide the optimal handling for riders of all sizes. The new Delite geometry makes such flexibility possible. At the same time, the entirely new design language revels in its attention to detail. The Delite hybrid is equipped with the Bosch Performance drive and as E-MTB in two versions and four street versions.
Each bike is hand built from start to finish by a Riese and Muller engineer to the specs required by the customer, delivery will typically take four weeks from order.
All the best, David
