Hi,
Apologies for not introducing myself sooner. As a complete and utter electric Bike novice, I signed up to this forum with great anxiety and trepidation. Having searched on the web and scanned through the forum, I soon realised that the world of electric bikes is a lot more complicated than simply plugging in your two wheeler the night before and whizzing off to work the next day. But in a matter of minutes of posting a question, I received invaluable advice from a number of expert seniors, (thanks Flecc and all the others who have already provided a little bit of clarity), thus making me feel no longer like the new boy on his first day at school.

So, let me give you a bit of my story. After years of struggling with the most unreliable and expensive bus service in the country, I have decided to stop lining shareholders pockets and in a reckless semi-act of protest decided to purchase an electric bike to make my daily pilgrimage to my place of work a great deal less stressful(hopefully). However, following my stroppy letter to the CEO of the bus company in question, I am now left with a dilemma..How do I conquer the twin peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro (two great hilly objects) that stand between me, contemplating departure from the safety and comfort of my warm house, and the base camp of my desk at work. Consequently, I need an electric bike that can cope with the gradients of Bath and help my weak puny Scottish legs make it to work and back each day. The first step( or cycle?) then is to identify and purchase the best bike fit for the job. The second step is to get up to speed (so to speak) with all the technical info that I need to make informed decisions about being a member of this very well-educated and informed club of Elec-Bike fanatics.

Thanks again

Hi,
So at least there are more than two newbies in the fold.I was interested in your comments about the puny legs etc, that certainly makes two of us.I am miles away from being an experienced E-Biker,but having pushed a bike for years I too decided on an easier option,I have now had my new bike from 50 cycles almost three weeks and have to say loving every minute I can get out on it.The help recieved on this forum has been fantastic, and through these postings decided on the Ezee Liv,and for me it is just about right,Even though I do not have to worry about getting to work,(,been retired about a hundred years,or so it sometimes seems.)I use my bike for pleasure and visiting friends and relatives, and to do this I have to navigate a hill, both ways, known as Portsdown Hill, surrounding Portsmouth in Hants, and it was Flecc who set my mind at rest on this hill before I actually had my bike.
It does the job just right,up and over,a little peddling, and nipping along at a reasonabe 12/15 miles an hour, now what more could one want?
I find I am gradually learning a little more about my steed by a regular tune in to this forum.Oh,forgot to say, welcome to the clan.

ragards.
