Hi Gurnard,

Welcome to the forum.

As an EU resident there are no import taxes to pay if you buy from within the EU but you will have to pay VAT.

If you import from outside the EU, e.g. China, you will have to pay VAT + import duty.

I hope that helps.

Hi Gurnard,
I did my first conversion last year. To keep things simple I went for front wheel motor and rack battery. Basically I bought an of the shelf kit because I knew it would have everything I needed. No trying to match motor, controller, charger and battery from different sources. I live in the UK so bought from a UK supplier and grumpily stood for the VAT:mad: but wot ya gonna do?
Kit's now done about 2000 miles on two different bikes and continues to go strong.
