Have a look at P5 value, tbh you don't need the bar display as the voltage readout is a more accurate visual aid. At least with the voltage reading you will for sure know that as you approach 33v lvc won't be far away.

Well that was strange, i pushed the bike backwards out of the garage and it came back on and has remained on since !
I have noticed if you pedal backwards the motor kicks in every now and then ! is this a faulty PAS ? it seems to be one rotation could it be a magnet the wrong way around in the pas ? or is this normal?
also what does the (13) mean on the motor?
Is the display waterproof ?

No some PAS work both ways, I have one that kicks in like that as well so if wheeling/pushing backwards I make sure PAS 0 is selected.
I will set the controller to go to assist 0 when first switched on

So after a week or so the bike has been fine really impressed with it i would like to get another battery so thinking of getting one of these ' or am I wasting my time ' you cant buy the cells for this price ?

Both of those are very dodgy, you would be a fool to even think about buying them.
A user on ES found them a few months back and we on the forum warned him off them as the listing is highly suspect with mah claims and price.
No way that 40 cells are 20k mah or 30 cells are 36k mah.

For 36v cell will be multiples of 10 40 is the minimum with generic mediocre cells.
42 cells would be 24v with six in parallel.
