New Li Battery powers off on using thumb throttle

Hi,

I have just connected my kit and charged the battery for 24hrs, but the battery goes off immediately when I operate the thumb throttle. The battery light indicator is always on empty

Anyone came across this problem before? any help please?

It sounds like the battery is knackered, have you got a multimeter to test it with?

I will buy multimeter today and test it. What am I suppose to see? Say I can see the power on live wire as 40+ volts does this mean all is ok?

Not necessarily but if after charging it says 20V then you know there's a problem, you might be able to test the charger to see it's putting out the right voltage. I'm not sure so hopefully someone more familiar with chargers will be along soon.

the multimeter is reading 49v

when I connect the controller the voltage on the controller connection is only 1.5v volts
