New X bike

Just ordered the X6 but the shop rang me to say there's a 10 week waiting list.
Rather than start my electric bike career at the beginning of November I've now ordered the X24 which has a 6 week waiting list.
With all this talk of painful throttle thumb I shall have to wait and see.
But it seems Powabyke must be doing something right if so many people have ordered it.

Hi....I have an X6...11 months old....I will take £350 for it.
If you buy new you stand to lose £500 immediately.
Buying at this price lets you try it with little or no financial loss.......think about it...it makes sense.

Me and Mike normally form a double act here - I also have one for sale at same price, same sort of age, although mines the bigger frame. I guess it also depends where you live - I'm near p'boro.

Bigbee - I'm selling as I bought a Wisper. 18 mile commute too much for X bike range.

At £350 it is a bargain....wish I'd had that opportunity but if neither Paul nor I can get £350 they're certainly not worth £830.
...but if there's a 10 week waiting list.

yeah unfortunately thats the deal breaker for a lot of people..

otherwise powabyke have done a really good job of making a machine which is also appealing to younger riders as well (assuming that pl1974 uses his year of birth in his username...)

Yes I agree. The X6 is a good bike and that range isn't a deal breaker for those in the right circumstances. It's a fact that many commuters only live 3 to 4 miles from work but that journey, once the schools traffic starts flowing again, can take over an hour and be very stressfull and frustrating. Even then they may not have a permanent parking spot and may have to park on a public car park, pay, and walk. If you don't live in the right spot for reliable public transport and you're badly overweight and could do with a bit of regular exercise, this bike, at a lower cost, is ideal. I can well understand it selling well. Not everyone needs the speed and range of the Wisper - cracking bike that it is.

Thanks Mike63 for your offer. It probably is a bargain but my work comute is just 2 miles with a killer hill getting back home. (The limited range on that small battery was also a concern to me)

But I could buy an additional battery which would be small enough to transport around.

I was seriously considering the Salisbury but then discovered it is only supplied with a 19 inch frame - too small for me.

My local bike shop will be supplying and have offered to take it in part exchange if I want to change.

Additionally I have the 12/24 month warranty to take into account.

Hi Sarge...unless there is something I don't know about, I think you'll find that the X24 has the same battery, weight and range as the X6,
....just a lot more money.

As far as range goes, I do a 10 mile journey to work (pedalling as well) and generally get there with all three battery meter lights still glowing. It sometimes goes down to 2 lights if it's exceptionally cold or there's a strong headwind. The x-byke battery will do a 2 mile run with no problems whatsoever. Even if there is an evil hill on the return leg.
