Hi Lee
I'm not sure what you're looking for in an ebike but you use the word interesting where I'd use the word expensive.
Frank's kit is £1125 delivered but you could buy a brand new, purpose-built 50cc or 125cc moped for £700 or less and with the spare cash you'd save, you could pick up a really top-class second-hand ebike with a well-respected name on the frame.
There are plenty of lightweight motor-cycles available for not a lot of money which will be far quicker than a 1500W ebike if it's speed or thrills you're after. Equally, there are some really decent ebikes around now which some of our members here can testify will do most of the things that people want in an electric bike. See some of the recent posts in regard to such as Tonaro or Kudos, not forgetting the well-regarded bikes from the likes of JuicyBike and others. A grand can buy you a really good, integrated ebike with first-class back-up and warranty.
I'm sure the stuff Frank does is well put together but one of the most highly regarded ebike suppliers and member of this forum, Wisper bikes, in the form of David Miall, has just recently begun marketing the long-awaited Daahub kit which Eddieo, another member here, has purchased and cannot, it seems, speak highly enough of. According to most, Wisper provides warranty and back-up second to none but there are others I'd encourage you to consider. Cyclezee, for example, has recently begun providing Ezee kits and quite a few members here have nothing but good things to say about the Ezee product.
What I'm trying to get across is, the choice is endless now and if you're prepared to consider paying over £1100 for a kit or a bike, just be aware that for that kind of money, there are loads of suppliers who would love to have your business.
I shall be interested to hear what you decide to purchase and what swayed you when the time comes. In the meantime, happy hunting.
Regards,
Indalo
