Newby choosing first bike

Kalkhoff (locally) are day hiring ebikes for £15. This might be useful for the very occasional trips of 25 miles or more. My current Cyclomatic is only good for 12 miles. 12 miles is far too low, I clock more than that just cycling about town in winter (measured).

Bikes w/o electro-assist may be as low as 13kg nowadays.

my bike w/o electrics weighs 10.2kg. With 16kgs. The motor on cookie's Santana2 is much more powerful than mine though.
