Nyon or Smartphone Hub?

I have a KTM Machina, about 4 years old, with a Bosch System 2 setup: a Performance line motor and an Intuvia display. I was thinking about upgrading to a Nyon display or perhaps a smartphone hub, mainly for the navigation but also for the enhanced data. Has anyone any comments about whether one might be better than the other, or are there any "gotchas" that I may need to be aware of?

Don't make the bike dependent on a phone, if that's what smartphone hub means.

I'd leave a four year old working bike well alone and use phone apps for extras without creating a dependency.
