Thanks for the replies. Still going round in circles but I am picking up the jargon although I haven't figured out what BPM means yet but I know what a BB is.

Car is lovely Martin (MY12, stage 2 Litcfield)

The idea is to pedal all the way on the journey so would a mid drive be a better bet ?

A BPM motor is a larger than average motor made by Bafang. They called it "The Hillclimber" for obvious reasons. There used to be 350w or 500w versions, but now you can get a "250w" version of the 350w one, so many OEMs are stating to use it in their bikes for those that have steep hills to climb or not much pedal power.

Nice, mine was stage 3 (MY09), downpipes, injectors, intake etc running 620! On custom map through my dataport all maps from Ben Linney. Lovely car

I much prefer CD, in fact we specialise in them, but others will point out the exact differences.

I would suggest, go ride both and see which you prefer.

BPM = Big Powerful Motor.
The BPM is better hillclimber than most CD motors at the moment, except the S-Pelelecs, the 8-Fun BBS02 and the woosh Krieger.

Which BPM are you talking about? There's about 20 different versions. The one Iin the bike I built for Allen-uk will annihilate any Wooshbike or s-pedelec in a hill-climbing contest. His was only set to 23 amps. They run OK on 30 amps, which would annihilate a BBS02 - if the BBS02's controller didn't burn halfway up the hill, in which case it would be no contest.

the legal ones, laser marked 250W. I guess all the manufacturers run these at 17A-20A
