Hi! Newbe here from Canada.

I also have a Onebot S9. It is speed limited to 25km/h, but I'm wondering if there is a way of increasing the limit to the 32km/h allowed in North America.

I was reading another thread on programming the Onebot S6. I looked at the S9, and settings are similar, but not the same. The thread on the S6 mentioned plugging a white and a black wire together on the motor controller. The controller in the S9 also has two connectors that are left unplugged. One wire is white liket the S6, but the other connector has two wires on it, a red and an orange one. After powering up, pressing the + and - buttons on the LCD display for 3 seconds puts the ebike into setting parameters, just like on the S6. P0 doesn't do anything, P1 sets the display to either km or miles, P2 looks like the wheel size in inches, P3 has three settings that I have no idea what they are, and P4 can be set to 0 or 1, and again, I have no idea what P4 is for. From the thread on the S6, it seems the S6 does not have a P4 setting.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

On my Mirider 1, which is based on the Onebot, you can get into the settings by turning on the computer, then IMMEDIATELY holding down the up and down buttons together for five seconds

This gets the bike into programming mode, and although l haven't worked out what all the setting do, l have changed the wheel size from 16" to 14"

So now instead of reading around 8% high, the speedometer reads about 8% low.

So the bike now does a genuine 17mph before the assistance cuts off. (rather than about 14mph) To be honest it's not possible to pedal it much faster than 17mph with the single gear. So there wouldn't be much point in trying change it any further.

You could l suppose set the wheel
size to 12" if you wanted to spin the pedals to 20mph

Unless you can get the bike to run with the motor only. Here in the U.K. that's not allowed and you can only do 4mph without pedalling

Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought of changing the wheel size setting to fool the motor controller. I guess that would mess up the trip meter and odometer, both will read less distance than actual. I guess that's a small compromise to go faster.

My Onebot S9 has a throttle for motor only operation. It's legal in Canada.

Changing it one wheel size won't affect the speedometer by much, most seem to read optimistically so you might even make it more accurate.
As standard it will be probably set to 16". lf you can change it, try 14" which was the next size down on my controller.
The actual wheel diameter in mine is 15"

The change (from 16" to 14") will give you 2-3mph
lt doesn't sound much, but it makes all the difference if you are actually pedalling the bike.

But if you are looking for more "throttle only" speed it won't really be enough
