Orbea Gain sizing

I am looking to purchase the Orbea Gain, probably the 2019 D30 model.

I was advised by Epic cycles (after asking my height/leg measurements etc etc) that due to the Gain 'coming in big' they recommended a Small size for me.

Now I appreciate bike brand sizes differ but I have always thought not by a great margin ?

I have always ridden Medium sized road bikes, I currently have two, both around 54 cms.

I am a little under 5'9" (call it 5' 8 1/2 " The Orbea site recommends Small for 5' 1" - 5' 7" and the Medium 5' 7" - 5' 11"

Anyone out there with the Orbea Gain who can put my mind at rest please ?

I have the d30 and am 5 ' 10" mine is a medium and suits me perfectly

A bit late now because I have purchased the D30.
I am shorter than you, a little under 5’9” these days (shrinking with age !)
After advice from Gain dealers I got the small. Previous bikes have alway been
Medium/54cm but the small Gain fits me great.
