Just realised that the postage charges to Europe from BMS are horrendous, even when the order does not include a battery.

Anywhere else to order eg. motors in wheels/controllers at good prices where postage charges are not extortionate ?

I would suggest you order your motor sans the wheel and build the wheel up locally. That may/should help with the postage cost as they costs are generally on a volume basis.

You can also then build the motor into a decent wheel.

I wish I had the expertise Andrew :) Also, cant see them lowering the shipping charges that much. There must be some other place people are ordering stuff from

You can test the postage savings but swapping out the motor wheel combo for just a motor. I cannot remember how much I was looking at saving but it was noticeable when I tested the idea.

As to the building part, just purchase the motor and take it to your local bike shop to be built into a wheel. Shouldn't cost that much for the building + wheel.

I know my local bike shop charged me ~ £22 for a wheel build (I supplied the rim and spokes). That may work out the same as paying for postage but ... sorry no suggestions on cheaper sources in terms of postage.

It's the size of the rim that bumps the shipping cost up. You can get a cheap rim from UK Ebay for about £20. Spokes are £20 to £30, building will be at least £30 if you can't do it yourself. That's at least £70 extra - much more than the additional shipping cost.

Greenbikekit.com is a bit cheaper on shipping costs, but they don't have such a good choice of stuff.
