Hi Guys,

I have been a little quiet on here over the last couple of months because I have been working day and night on a complete new website overhaul.

The new site is much easier to navigate, it also includes loads more information than previous.

Its very powerful, with lots of new functions. My favorite is the product comparison, where you can select a number of bikes / products and configure a direct comparison between them.
For Example -
Product Compare www.e-bikeshop.co.uk.jpg

The new site also features the latest 2014 Gen 2 eBikes available for pre-order here -Haibike

I hope it is much cleaner for you to use, it should also be very easy to navigate around and work very fluently.

Here is the new site - e-bikeshop.co.uk

Of course with any new site there may be slight glitches here and there, so if any of you sharp eyed people spot any thing then please let me know.

Also new for the site is my integrated blog here - ebikeshop news | The latest news in the world of electric bikes

Here you can find all my latest news / articles / reviews & tech info. Hope many of you find it handy, it will be updated on a regular basis so please feel free to subscribe!

One of the most exciting parts of the new site is the 'Parts & Spares' category. Now you can all scroll through all the Bosch / Panasonic electric bike parts with ease (should save me a fair bit of time each day on the phone too!)

Parts & Spares here - Parts & Spares

So there it is, have a navigate around and let me know what you all think..

Regards
Martin

Great job Martin, how nice to see some e-bike spares treated in a thorough and professional way in a website for a change. Seeing how you care about an e-bike's future rather than just the sale should be good for business.

Hi Flecc,

Thanks for the comments,
This is everything I aimed to achieve. Good to get a second opinion on the site!

I haven't checked out the rest of the site, but some of the links on Haibike xDuro AMT PRO 27.5 Gen 2 2014 page don't work.
Hi Eddie,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
These links should be fixed now.

If anyone finds any more bugs on there I would be gratefull if you can let me know as it want the site to be as smooth as possible for the end user.

Martin, in general love the look of the new site, but some feedback

(1) can you add quick link submenusmenus to the main menu bar (see chainreaction for an example) easily? if so i really like this feature
(2) small point, but its not that mobile friendly, don't know if this matters to you, but its slow to load on 3g and on a small tablet or phablet sized device you've got to zoom to see anything
(3) you don't have your phone number on the website front page at all
(4) if you shrunk the home logo, you could have the blog links at the top of your page (maybe in a dynamic content feed so you could show the last 5 posts or similar) I'd also suggest that you make the blog open in another tab

all in all its a great site and i love the look and feel, but i think it will be appreciated by your existing customers and ebike owners than prospective customers.

just my 2ps worth (and i know i should spend my spare 10 minutes coming for that test ride, not p!"£$£ about on the web ;) )

Hi Ghoul,

Yes you do need to give me a call and pop down, let me know when your coming and Ill stick the kettle on! :)

Totally agree with having the phone number in there. I will address the phone number issue and try to work the blog into somewhere more appealing on the home page.

It seems to load up fairly quickly on tablets/phones with 3G, I have not tested it yet on GPRS signal. I have tried to optimise images as much as possible without affecting the fluent graphics for larger screen PC users. Maybe a little more work to do there though.

With the sub menu's - I actually had this initially but found them annoying when accidentally hovering over them to view cart etc. It may work better on bigger sites with more products (which mine will be when I get round to uploading the 1000's of accessory lines we have here in-store). For the time being I found the refinements section down the left side of all categories narrows down item with just a couple of clicks.

Thanks for the excellent feedback. Always good to get others perspective.
Hopefully see you in-store shortly.

Regards
Martin

Ghoul,

We have been working hard over the weekend to bring action to some of your points above, as well as lots of other little bits on the site.

I can confirm, the blog is now integrated into the homepage as a feed that automatically updates with the latst content. These are quick views of each post and can be clicked on to read the full blog post.

The phone number has now been integrated into the top header of every page. On most devices you can click on it to automatically make a call.

Also the biggest structural difference to the new site is it is now mobile optimised. It will detect if you are viewing on a mobile device and format accordingly. It will automatically remove the large images (that load slowly) and only feature the most important information. The pages should all auto format to fit the size of your mobile device for easy reading / navigation.

If anyone else has any input I'd like to hear, at the end of the day the site is there for you guys as the end user so if I can make it better / easier to operate I'd love to hear opinions.

Regards
Martin
