Panasonic Motor Plastic Cover

I have just been cleaning my Pro C and noticed that the black plastic circular cover on the left hand side of the motor assembly is loose. It looks like it clips onto a black plastic carrier that is bolted to the main motor alloy casting.

If I take hold of the cover I can move it around but it doesn't seem like it is ready to fall off. I am just a little concerned that something has come loose and will allow water ingress. Should this cover feel loose? Could some helpful person have a look at their Panasonic motor and let me know if their cover is the same.

Thanks

Tom

The one on the Agattu I tested was flexible Tom, not appearing to be attached at the edges but more likely at the centre on the face of the motor. Again it didn't fall off at all. The black plastic carrier that you mention is the motor casing itself. On the earlier Panasonic unit it didn't have the same outer cowling and you can see what it looks like in this photo from my website:

Thank you for taking the trouble to post the information Flecc. I was wiping down the motor casing and noticed that the centre section was flexing as though loose. As you say, the centre circular part is attached independently of the peripheral bolts.

I’d not noticed it before and just wondered if all was well. You have answered my question, thanks.

Regards

Tom

Congratulations on the 100 posts Tom. I had the advantage of being the first ever to post when the forum opened and being the only person answering posts in the early days, these giving me a big head start. :)
