From my understanding electric bikes are already popular across the pond.
I may be proven wrong, but I doubt if pedal assist only will ever be as popular as it is in Europe.

The comment by DON DiCostanzo would seem to agree with that.

I know for a fact that dual mode eZee bikes are far more popular in the US, Australia and New Zealand than in Europe.

That's my view too, I think the Bosch message is more to try to promote a larger pedelec market, rather than recognise what is actual.

I thought electric bikes were illegal in a lot of parts of the US ?
Only two, New York State where enforcement of the ban is very erratic and one the USA's largest dealers is positioned, and Illinois where the ban is strictly enforced.

Some states have draconian restrictions though, such as requiring registration and/or a driving licence.
