Hi all,
I'm relatively new to e-bikes converted my mountain bike to a front hub conversion about 5 years ago (36V Lithium 12Ah 250W old AlienOcean kit). I believe the motor is a Bafang.
Whilst I used it quite a bit 5 years ago, I decided to resurrect it this year. I had been keeping the battery topped up all these years and still get a decent distance.
I notice the motor seems very noisy but still quite powerful. I don't think it's a direct drive motor and when you lift the front wheel off the ground and try to spin the wheel it does spin (slightly) but feels as if you are turning over a load of cogs (which I guess you are ?). Its quite noisy on the freewheel also with no power applied.
I don't remember the motor being particularly noisy 5 years ago but I am getting old. The motor seem to run fine and does pull all 18st of me along although I prefer to use as little power as I can.
Do you think there is a fault from my explanation ?
