I recently bought online a powabyke no manual and dont know model.low bar shopper style white but its really as new it has lithium battery running vertically under saddle. My problem is when i switched on ignition the bike took off time i got key switched off everything seemed to have died. I started eliminating faults. The top lot of connections about 6 inches under electric brake had 3 unattached wires which i re connected but no success. I have plenty photos of the bike if any body has any idea i would be so happy. Dave.a

Jeez, It's like one of those competitions where they show you a rear light or bit of trim, and you have to guess which car it is,

Surely you can take a picture of the whole bike?

Can you post decent photos showing all the connection on the control box and state if any indicators lights are showing ect. Have you checked all the fuses if its dead,?

There should be one on the battery, it will most likely un screw, black cap type, then if its not clear glass to show fuse wire you will need a meter to test it or test lamp of some description, sound like its over loaded when its stalled out, but that's just a guess.

That's better, but I don't recognise that model. The motor looks quite large. Do you know whether the motor is brushed (2 wires) or brushless ( 3 or 8 wires).

If it's brushed, running by itself when switched on normally means blown FETs in the controller.

Those wires that you joined at the steering head: How did they become separated.

Unfortunately, none of those photos help.
Is there writing on the controller that says brushed or brushless? If not, I need to know how many wires go to the motor from the controller. The controller is the silver box.

It would help if you gave simple answers to my simple questions.
Does the controller have brushed or brushless written on it? Please answer yes or no. If yes, which? Please answer brushed or brushless.
How many wires go to the motor? Please answer 2, 3, 8 or more.

You've blown a FET in the controller. If you're good at soldering and electronics repairs, you can replace the faulty FET, otherwise you need a new controller.

Controllers with pedal sensors for brushed motors are hard to find. You should send a message to Frank Curran at Powabyke. He might be able to help you. They still have a lot of spares for old models. Somebody might be able to give you a more direct link, otherwise usethis one:
