Pro C Handlebar Adjustment

I would like to adjust the handlebars on my Pro-C. At present, they are set at their lowest level (0 on the scale) and I feel as though I am reaching a little bit too far forwards.

I assume that there is a locking bolt that will allow the handlebars to rotate to a more upright position. I have slackened off the obvious bolt (the one at the side of the scale) but the bars still feel tight and won’t rotate.

Has anyone made this adjustment and could let me know what needs slackening off.

That's the right bolt, but there may be internal serrations to assist with locking in place, so you may have to loosen the bolt a long way and use some force to rotate the extension. A sudden jerk upwards may be needed rather than a steady pull, and you may need someone else to hold the bike down on the crossbar as you do it.

Thanks Flecc, I thought that may be the case but I didn't want to start applying force until I was sure that I had slackened off the correct bolt.

We've just prepared a video where Lloyd covers this and lots of other maintenance/set up issues. It will appear on the site and in the forum shortly.

Pro Connect Handlebars

I was going down a steep hill last night and braked fairly gently when my handlebars suddenly went forward. The lower hexagon socket screw was loose and took a couple of turns to tighten it up.

I had adjusted the handlebars when I got the Pro Connect last July and tightened the stem fully.

I have had a few odd creaks from the handlebars over the last couple of months and now think this was related to the stem fixing gradually loosening.

I will certainly make sure that this is now a regular maintenance item as it gave me a bit of a shock when it happened

The basic adjustments video, with Lloyd demonstrating how to change both Agattu and Pro Connect handlebar positions, was published here earlier this week
