Can someone tell me what chain to use on a 2 year old Proconnect please?

I have been on the website for SJS but there is a lot of different chains but no PC1 which was mentioned in an earlier post.

Yours will have the 8 speed hub gear, so it's any 1/8" chain. Don't worry about the PC1 designation or anything else like that, just choose on the usual basis of price and quality. Derailleurs use 3/32" or narrower chains, in versions to suit up to 7, 8, 9 or even more sprockets on the rear cluster.

I've used the SRAM chains from SJS which have always been good, and those come at various price levels, both plain metal finish and plated. There are many other good chains though, like KMX for example.

50 Cycles sell Pro Connect chain.
I've fitted the new sprockets, chain wheel and chain which I got from 50C but there is rattling noise from the chain area so I am wondering if the chain is incorrect.
There is no noise when it is up on the bike stand but it is very obvious when riding and especially louder when pressing down on the left pedal.
It is still there with the chain guard removed.
It has got me baffled!

Did you buy your chain, here, from 50 Cycles?

I am getting ready for new sprockets and chain, but will leave it until something fails before replacing the whole lot.

Just wondered if the Kalkhoff chain 50 C are selling is suitable for the 8 speed hub geared bikes. (ie is it long / wide enough)

If it's derailleur chain it might be sitting on the shoulder of the chainwheel and/or rear sprocket and that will make a noise.

Measure the chain. If you look at one of the the central rollers between all the link plates, it's the width of that you need to check. It should be 1/8", if it's 3/32" wide it will be the wrong chain if the chainwheel is for 1/8".

50cycles despatch are not infallible. I ordered two ProConnect chains, one for me and one for Mrs 'O'. As Flecc says check they've not sent you a 3/32 chain. Initially I was only sent one chain despite ordering two, and then when they did send the second chain it was indeed a 3/32 chain!!! In the end I kept it as I'll fit my non-elec bike (and I ordered yet another ProConnect 1/8 inch). The 3/32 chain just doesn't fit on the chainwheel/sprocket teeth - riding on the top. I think the later non-hub geared ProConnects may use the 3/32" which is why 50cycles may stock them. Failing that perhaps they were out of stock and nipped down the LBS and picked up the wrong chain:D

Yes, the later derailleur models like the 9G use narrower chains and that's what I suspect may have happened, a derailleur chain supplied.
