Hi
Finally completed and tested the conversion of the wife's Saracen Diva to an ebike. Cannibalised the Powabyke I wrote off some while ago in a high speed 'head on' with 'white van man'. Bike was totally mangled, but miraculously the motor survived, as did all the electronics (but you should've seen the wheels and frame....
) so I decided to use these to do a conversion on the wife's bike. Seemed better than just throwing away all the useful parts left on the Powabyke.
Final result - well apart from the cable ties which detract from the appearance more than I would like, the bike itself works a treat. Took it up a local hill that's hardish work on my Wisper and it just sailed up! Whilst they may be 'agricultural' those Powabyke motors can get you up some seriously steep hills
.
Incidentally, all up weight as shown on pics below and including the battery is approx 23kg (crudely measured on the bathroom scales).
Now all that remains to her persuade her to get on it......
